Registration for TDWG 2026
Be part of the TDWG 2026 conference to be held in Oslo, Norway from 21 to 24 September.
Special registration rates are available for TDWG members, post-docs, and students. Heavily discounted pricing is also offered for participants from low and lower-middle income countries. Not able to attend in person? A virtual conference registration option is available.

Presenting authors
All content contributors (presenting authors) must be registered for at least virtual participation to remain in the program.
If you are submitting an abstract for a presentation or poster, please use the same email address in your abstract submission and your registration. (All presenting authors must be registered and your email address is what links your abstract to your registration.)
We expect to have abstracts reviewed and acceptances communicated to authors by the end of June.
Registration options
In-person
In-person registration covers:
- Access to the conference program
- Social events (ice-breaker Sunday evening, welcome reception Monday evening, and a social sauna Wednesday evening)
- Four (4) days of conference sessions
- Box lunches on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
- For contributing authors: open-access publishing of your abstract in the Biodiversity Information Science and Standards (BISS)
- Early access to session videos
Virtual
Virtual registration covers:
- Access to the conference program
- Links to the live session stream (via Zoom)
- Early access to session videos (posted for 4-12 hours after the end of a session)
- For contributing authors: open-access publishing of your abstract in the Biodiversity Information Science and Standards (BISS)
Daily
Daily registration covers:
- Access to the conference program for the day of registration
- Box lunch for that day
- For contributing authors: open-access publishing of your abstract in the Biodiversity Information Science and Standards (BISS)
Discounts
Member discount codes have been emailed to current (2026) individual and institutional TDWG members. Each discount code is unique and provides a $75 USD discount on full professional registration for individual members up to five affiliates from an institutional member. If your institution is a TDWG member, please coordinate use of discount codes with your institution’s primary contact.
TDWG subsidises participation for individuals who are:
- students,
- post-docs or retired, or
- from a country the UN/World Bank categorizes as having a Low or Lower-middle income economy.
The registration fees for these categories are well below the per-person cost of the conference and lower than any combination of discounts afforded to full professional participants.
About the Conference
The program for TDWG 2026 will be composed of keynote presentations, symposia, discussion sessions, working meetings, workshops, and posters. There will be up to five sessions running concurrently each day.
The conference will run over 4 days from 21 to 24 September with excursions planned before and after the conference plus a full day of excursions on Wednesday 23. You need to book excursions separately.

Terms and Conditions
To register, all conference participants must agree to Terms and Conditions below.
Code of Conduct
I agree to abide by the TDWG Code of Conduct and interact with other participants in a respectful manner. I understand that if I violate the Code of Conduct I can be removed and barred from the conference and will not be issued a refund of my registration fees or other expenses.
Consent to appear in published videos and images
I acknowledge that if I make a presentation, it will become publicly accessible on the TDWG YouTube channel, unless I communicate my objection to the conference organizers prior to 2026-05-31 and we agree that an accommodation can be made. If accommodation is not agreed, my presentation will either be converted to a poster or withdrawn/removed from the program.
I also acknowledge and consent that if I attend the conference in person, I might appear in the session videos that will eventually become publicly viewable on the TDWG YouTube channel or in images that appear on the TDWG website or in social media posts to promote the conference.
Content contributors
All content contributors (presenting authors) must be registered for at least virtual participation to remain in the program.
Refunds
Cancellations received before 2026-09-07 will receive a 90% refund. After that date, refunds will be limited to 50% of the ticket price. If circumstances prevent your participation in-person, we encourage converting your participation to virtual. Conversion to virtual will be refunded 90% of the difference between ticket prices.
