Travel requirements for entering Norway

Check if you need a visa to visit Norway. If you do, please follow the instructions under “Attend a cultural event or visit an organization”.

Invitation letter

If you need an invitation letter, please request it by emailing conf-organizers@tdwg.org. Make sure you provide the information below as part of your request:

  • Email address used to register for TDWG 2026
  • Full name as it appears in your passport
  • Passport number
  • Country issuing passport
  • Gender (sex)
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality as shown in passport
  • Planned travel dates

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website provides a list of Norwegian Embassies by country.

Should you need further assistance, the International Staff Mobility Office (ISMO) at the University of Oslo may be able to help. Please email conf-organizers@tdwg.org if you want to use this service. Most attendees in need of a visa won’t need this service.

Do not contact ISMO directly. The Organizing Committee needs to start that process on your behalf.
