TDWG 2013 Call for Symposia and Workshops

Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG) will hold its annual conference in Florence, Italy on October 28 – November 1.  We are issuing a call for symposia or workshop proposals for the conference.  The theme of the meeting is Virtual Communities for Biodiversity Science and we are particularly interested in adding eScience topics to the program. Please send symposium/workshop proposals to the Programme Chair, Heimo Rainer (heimo.rainer(at)nhm-wien.ac.at) and General Secretary (secretary(at)tdwg.org) by January 15, 2013.

To the extend of what you already can provide your proposals should mention following items : 

- symposium in plenary, workshop or computer demos in parallel session
- title
- convener
- abstract: description and  how it relays to TDWG activities 
- do you already have speakers (name, presentations, confirmed or tentative)
- duration of the session (time needed)
- any date/time constrains
- expected number of attendance (size of room needed)
- special needs (IT, tables, white board , ...)
- possible sponsoring or needed budget

 TDWG 2013 will be held at the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo (http://www.hotelmediterraneofirenze.com) but attendees will be free to choose from any of the accommodations in the area, many within a short distance.  Registration details will be provided early in 2013.  The meeting website will soon be available at http://www.tdwg.org/conference2013.
