Author Guidelines
Interest and Task group Charters are reviewed by the TDWG Executive Committee.
Interest and Task Group charters will be public documents that will advertise the groups activities. It is therefore important that charters-
1. Use the approriate template
Interest Group charter- http://www.tdwg.org/fileadmin/documentation/doc_templates/TDWG_Interest_Group_Charter_Template_03.doc
Task Group charter-

2. Text MUST be clear enough to enable people not in the field to understand what the group is doing. Charters MUST be written for a non-technical audience
3. Be concise - brief and to the point. The charter is the public face of the group. It is a useful method for recruiting members to be the group.
4. Explain why this group is needed. What does it do that another TDWG group or another standards group can't or shouldn't do?
5. Overlap with other groups should be minimized.
6. If it is a Task Group, specific outputs and outcomes in a specific timeframe are required.
7. The Executive Committee reviews all charters. If it is a Task group, ensure that the Convener of the parent Interest Group has already approved the submission of the charter.
