How to Gain Consensus
- Use the blog to encourage consensus by fostering online discussion among Interest and Task group members.
- Consensus is usually a compromise and as a result it is difficult to please everyone.
- Communicate a clear vision of the direction to the group.
- Regularly evaluate the goal and the group's position in relation to it (e.g. Run out in front and point "This way"!)
- Always be open to new ideas as tangents may end up leading the way ahead.
- Encourage the opinions of quieter members as they may be uncomfortable supporting the current paradigm or raising doubts.
- Listen to and voice your feelings with a disruptive member (if the behavior continues, talk with them one-on-one at the first opportunity).
